After Receiving Favorable Reports, Representative Meschino’s Climate Bills Re-filed

This work builds on Representative Meschino’s signature piece of climate legislation, The 2050 Roadmap, enacted in 2021 as the cornerstone of An Act creating a next-generation roadmap for Massachusetts climate policy. A climate bank or “green” bank develops innovative financing to accelerate clean energy adoption and to drive the shift to decarbonize the economy. The bill, which would place the state’s climate bank under the scope of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, has yet to be assigned to a specific committee for review. “The creation of a statewide climate bank aims to provide financial resources to Massachusetts citizens looking to undertake projects designed . . . Representative Joan Meschino Offers Remarks to NBC10 Boston Regarding Oversight for DCF Removals

(BOSTON) - State Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull) recently offered remarks in an interview to NBC10 Boston’s investigative team regarding her bill that would require a judge to review a child's removal from a home during hours when courthouses are closed. This key oversight would ensure that sound decisions are made by the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families (DCF) at critical moments and that the well-being of each child remains central in these decision-making processes. Representative Meschino sat down with NBC10’s Ryan Kath to discuss the proposed “timely court oversight” legislation, which is one of multiple children and family bills that she plans to re-file in the new 193rd Legislative Session. “Any time government takes that step to intervene [with an emergency removal], we owe it to ourselves and to those families to be thoughtful,” said Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull). “It seems like an obvious and reasonable thing.
