South Shore Legislators Visit East Elementary

(HINGHAM) - On the morning of Wednesday, October 9th, the 5th grade class at East Elementary School in Hingham could be found sitting cross-legged on the classroom floor. This was no ordinary class, though. Representative Meschino (D-Hull) and Senator O’Connor (R-Weymouth) joined the students for a first-hand civics education lesson. South Shore Leaders Attend MA250 Kickoff

(BOSTON) - On Tuesday, September 17th, Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull) attended the Massachusetts 250 kickoff event along with other South Shore leaders. The 250th anniversary of our nation is in July 2026, and Massachusetts leaders have taken this as an opportunity to invest in historical landmarks and development across the state. Tuesday’s event kicked off the celebration; Governor Maura Healey was spotted on horseback along Beacon Street and historical reenactors dotted the State House steps.  “Across the state, leaders are using this anniversary to promote the historical richness of our communities,” said Representative Meschino (D-Hull). “I am grateful that the administration has made grant funds available to our community organizations to boost local economic development and show off all that our state has to offer.” South Shore historical organizations are gearing up for the MA250 events in the coming years. Representative Joan Meschino Attends Endless Summer Waterfront Festival

(BOSTON) - On Saturday, September 7th, Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull) attended the annual Endless Summer Waterfront Festival in Hull. The event attracts residents of Hull and the surrounding towns and is one of the biggest town events of the year. Local businesses, community organizations, restaurants, and musicians come together in a celebration along Nantasket Beach.  “Endless Summer has become a staple of the Hull community,” said Representative Meschino (D-Hull). “The event allows us to connect with our neighbors, learn more about the organizations and businesses that make our community run, and enjoy the final days of summer alongside the gorgeous Nantasket Beach.” The festival offers a platform for businesses and organizations to gain a broader reach with visitors arriving from surrounding areas. Kim Greaves of Hull and Kenzie Blackwell of Hingham Receive 2024 Commonwealth Heroine Award

(BOSTON) – Two women from the Third Plymouth District were recently honored as members of the 2024 class of Commonwealth Heroines under the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW). Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull) nominated Ms. Kim Greaves to honor her leadership in community engagement and local government in Hull and the 3rd Plymouth District. Also nominated from the district was Ms. Kenzie Blackwell, a Hingham resident and founder and director of @free.period.ministry, an organization which has provided nearly one million menstrual products to schools across Massachusetts. Representative Meschino Visits Sunset Point Camp in Hull

(BOSTON) -  On Tuesday, July 9th, State Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull) visited Sunset Point Camp in Hull. Originally opened in 1919, the summer camp is run by Catholic Charities of Boston and offers day programs for families in the South Shore as well as overnight programs for those on the South Shore and in Greater Boston.
