Representative Meschino Hires New Legislative Aides

Kim Greaves of Hull and Kenzie Blackwell of Hingham Receive 2024 Commonwealth Heroine Award

(BOSTON) – Two women from the Third Plymouth District were recently honored as members of the 2024 class of Commonwealth Heroines under the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW). Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull) nominated Ms. Kim Greaves to honor her leadership in community engagement and local government in Hull and the 3rd Plymouth District. Also nominated from the district was Ms. Kenzie Blackwell, a Hingham resident and founder and director of @free.period.ministry, an organization which has provided nearly one million menstrual products to schools across Massachusetts. Representative Meschino Visits Sunset Point Camp in Hull

(BOSTON) - On Tuesday, July 9th, State Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull) visited Sunset Point Camp in Hull. Originally opened in 1919, the summer camp is run by Catholic Charities of Boston and offers day programs for families in the South Shore as well as overnight programs for those on the South Shore and in Greater Boston. Following Joint Rule 10 Deadline, Representative Meschino’s Bills Receive Favorable Reports and Extensions

(BOSTON) - State Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull) has continued to pursue a robust legislative agenda following her successes after February’s Joint Rule 10 deadline, at which time most Joint Committees must issue their recommendations for the next steps of bills under their review. Six bills filed by Representative Meschino received favorable reports and will move forward in the legislative process. Bill Supporting Parents Running for Office Receives Favorable Report

(BOSTON) - On Wednesday, May 31st, State Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull) joined advocates from across the Commonwealth, including representatives of Plymouth County’s regional commission, at the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women’s Lobby Day held at the State House. Supportive Housing Included in Recent House Bill

(BOSTON, MA) - Supportive housing, a priority for State Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull), was included in the House’s recent H.4707, An Act relative to the Affordable Homes Act. The Act provides a comprehensive package of funding to support the creation of affordable housing in Massachusetts. Supportive housing is a crucial element of this legislation and provides an excellent opportunity to combat the Massachusetts housing crisis. Permanent supportive housing, a subset of permanent housing, is a housing model that integrates resources such as shelter, healthcare, and assistive services, for residents in need of multiple pillars of support.
