(BOSTON) – State Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull) recently announced the hiring of Jane Fulton and Harrison Bushnell as her Legislative Aides. Prior to joining Representative Meschino’s team, Jane graduated from Boston College and Harrison was a paralegal at a Boston immigration law firm after graduating from Yale University.
“I am excited to have Harrison and Jane join my team,” said Representative Meschino (D-Hull). “I am confident that they will bring kindness and commitment to their new roles in serving the constituents of Hingham, Hull, and Cohasset. Together, they bring experience in public service and climate policy, as well as a history of dedication to their communities.”
Throughout her academic and work experience, Jane has shown a dedication to serving the people of her community. As an intern for Senator Ed Markey, she assisted in constituent services to help residents of Massachusetts receive improved access to healthcare, employment, and housing, and she is excited to bring these skills to the 3rd Plymouth District. She was deeply involved in sustainable food systems throughout her undergraduate career, and is eager to help advance Representative Meschino’s environmental priorities in the coming session. Jane graduated from Boston College in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
Growing up in rural Vermont, Harrison brings with him a belief in the power of sense of place and understanding the context within which you live and work. Through his time working for the Appalachian Mountain Club and on Vermont Governor Phil Scott’s Climate Action Commission, Harrison developed a commitment to preserving our natural landscape and promoting sustainable economic development amidst the climate crisis. Harrison has consistently served those around him, aiding new students in the social and academic transition to college as a first-year counselor at Yale University and working as an immigration paralegal at a Boston law firm. Harrison graduated from Yale University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies.
As colleagues on Representative Meschino’s team, Jane and Harrison will support the Representative in serving the residents of the 3rd Plymouth District and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. They will be replacing the current Chief of Staff, Chris Altizer, who will be attending law school in the fall.
Legislative Aides play a vital role in the office of Representative Meschino. In addition to constituent services, Legislative Aides are responsible for legislative, office and district activities, including bill filing, bill tracking, policy analysis, scheduling and strategic communications. Aides also serve as liaisons to federal, state and municipal agencies and staff the Representative at State House events, district events and office hours as needed.
