(BOSTON) – State Representative Joan Meschino (D-Hull) recently announced the hiring of Christopher Altizer as a Legislative Aide. Prior to joining Representative Meschino’s team, Mr. Altizer served as a high school chemistry teacher in Chelsea Public Schools and held several positions in the climate policy space.

“Chris will be bringing his knowledge of climate advocacy and youth support to our team,” said Representative Meschino. “I am confident that his commitment to these causes and his ability to connect with residents of all ages will ensure that our constituents continue to have positive experiences with my office.”

Passionate about our work to disrupt the climate crisis, Chris will build upon his experience creating fisheries networks at the Environmental Defense Fund in his work with Representative Meschino’s office. Chris has also demonstrated a commitment to supporting the needs of our young people, working as a residential advisor at Harvard College and as a volunteer coordinator of the Mission Hill After School Program in Boston.  Chris graduated from Harvard University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Science. The following year, he earned a Master of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education after completing the Harvard Teacher Fellows program.

Chris joins Rep. Meschino’s current Chief of Staff, Geordie Enoch.  Ms. Enoch has been working with Representative Meschino for over a year, supporting the pressing needs of constituents in Hingham, Hull, Cohasset and North Scituate. She graduated from Harvard in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government.

As colleagues on Representative Meschino’s team, Geordie and Chris will support the Representative in serving the residents of the 3rd Plymouth District and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Legislative Aides play a vital role in the office of Representative Meschino. In addition to constituent services, Legislative Aides are responsible for legislative, office and district activities, including bill filing, bill tracking, policy analysis, scheduling and strategic communications. Aides also serve as liaisons to federal, state and municipal agencies and staff the Representative at State House events, district events and office hours as needed.
