Mass511 Account and Route Creation

Create an account

  1. Go to Mass511.com
  2. Click on “My Mass511” in the top right of the screen.
  3. A box will pop up, select “Sign up now”.
  4. You will be prompted to enter some basic information (First and Last name, E-mail address and a password) and accept the terms of service.
  5. Select “Create account.”
  6. Your account creation will be confirmed and ask you to confirm your e-mail via an acceptance link sent to the email you provided.
  7. Access your acceptance email and select “Accept”.
  8. You will be taken back to 511 and receive a pop up stating that your account has been successfully activated and prompt you to set preferences for your account.
  1. OPTIONAL: You may provide a mobile phone number to receive text alerts based on your account preferences.

Create a route containing Fore River Bridge Notifications

*Follow these steps to get Fore River bridge lift notifications*

  1. Sign in to your Mass511 account if you are not already signed in.
  2. At the top of the screen, next to the Mass511 logo, Select the Green “More Search Options” drop down.
  3. In the dropdown select “Custom route”.
  4. Input your starting address and ending address.
  5. Mass511 will generate a route from the start to the endpoint.
  6. Adjust your route so it crosses the Fore River bridge. If the route does not cross the bridge by default, select the route provided by the system (blue highlighted section of road) and drag it to the Fore River Bridge. The route will now contain the Fore River bridge in your route.
  7. In the top left of the screen there will be a heart icon with the word “Favorite” under it, select this icon to save the route.
  8. Upon selecting the icon, a popup will appear prompting you to input a label for the route and preferences for when you want to receive alerts regarding your route.
  9. Select how you would like to receive alerts about your route (E-mail and/or SMS) as well as what type of alerts and when (Travel time warnings, what days and what times you want alerts).
  10. Select “Create Favorite.”
  11. A small window will pop-up below the heart icon and note “Saved Successfully.”
  12. The route will be accessible in “My Mass511” button under the “What are you looking for sections.”
  13. Please note that you must be signed in to access the saved route or any other information associated with your account.

*If the Fore River Bridge is in a lifted state, then it will be displayed on the Mass511 web page and app as a Yellow Diamond over the location of the Fore River bridge.
