HULL – Democrat Joan Meschino, candidate for State Representative for the Third Plymouth District seat, has the support of many leading organizations in Massachusetts doing important work in the district. The Massachusetts AFL-CIO, Massachusetts Nurses Association, Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus, Mass Alliance, the Environmental League of Massachusetts, Sierra Club, and Emily’s List are among the major groups backing Meschino for State Representative. Maura Healey, Massachusetts Attorney General has again come out strongly in favor of Joan’s election to the legislature.
“I’m pleased to have these groups and the Attorney General behind my election,” Meschino said. “It’s a statement that we share values and goals, and it also indicates they support my views on the important issues facing our district and the state,” she explained. Meschino also pointed out that the diversity of her endorsements shows that she is well-aligned with both progressive and traditional Democratic allies.
These organizations include key labor, environmental, and professional groups with missions advancing public education, pay equity, equal opportunity, job growth, social justice, public health, and the views of working people. The Attorney General’s support indicates her assessment of Meschino’s strong capabilities in policy supporting law enforcement and protections for law-abiding residents.

AFL-CIO President Steven A. Tolman. "She is a proven leader who is not
afraid to stand up for what is right. She is exactly the type of voice
working people need in the House of Representatives. She understands how
important it is to build an economy that works for everyone - not just the
wealthy and well connected."
The environmental organizations work toward addressing
climate change, mitigating and preparing for its impacts, reducing fossil fuel
consumption, improving air and water quality, and protecting environmental
